Barbeque Nation

If you are a kebab lover, then this place is a must visit. When I had been to mangalore some days back, I happen to visit this place. Was greatly pleased by the ambiance, and service.

Since it was Ramadan time, they had a live counter of Iftar delicacies, Which included the following

  1. Chicken shikhampuri kebab
  2. Mutton galouti kebab
  3. Gurda kheema kaleja

Only thing I greatly relished amongst this was the gurda kheema kaleja (a stir fry of finely chopped liver and lamb internals) The preparation was spot on, The liver was crunchy and the spices were well balanced. I could just go on eating this like forever 😀 Well, Something I would change here is the garnish of raw onions and tomatoes, Cilantro would be more perfect.. Just saying 😉

The chicken shikampuri kebab was kinda ok, I found it too dry.. Maybe because of overcooking on the tawa. But tastewise, fair enough.

Loved the mutton galouti kebab though, Very flavorful, soft and melt in mouth. Perfect blend of spices, just wouldn’t want that garnish of raw onions, kinda spoils the fun.

Next comes the appetizers, They serve an array of assorted veg and non veg stuff which is unlimited, You can go on gobbling to your heart’s content. 😉

The appetizers consisted of

  • Chicken Tikka
  • Basa Fish kebab
  • Prawns Tandoori
  • Tangdi Kebab
  • Paneer Tikka
  • Grilled Pineapple
  • Crispy corn

Well that’s how much I can remember 😉 but trust me there’s much more 😀

Out of the massive list, What I enjoyed the most was prawns tandoori and the basa fish kebab, since the cook on the fish was spot on, The prawns were perfectly done, and not overcooked. The basa fish was moist and delicately made. The marinade of the both were great. And to be eaten with that pudina chutney was tantalizing 😛 Rest of the starters were OK, But what I suggest is not to leave the kebabs on the bbq pit for long since it tends to overcook it, and thus it turns quite hard and rubbery.

They also have a wide range of maincourse both in veg and non veg,  I was honestly not interested in having the maincourse as I was too full with the appetizers !! But its really worth for the money, and if you are a voracious eater.

I went on to try one of their Mocktails (Not included in buffet menu) (INR 95) named “Spiced Tango” Its a mango drink with slight hints of ginger with a tangy taste. I  kinda loved it. If you visit this place, then please go for mocktails, as they charge the same amount for the aerated drinks 😛

Now comes the best part of the meal, They have a wide range of lip smacking desserts,

  • White forest gateux
  • Mango phirni
  • Sheer Korma
  • Persian Grap
  • Choco peanut crunch
  • Chocolate brownie
  • Gulab jamuns
  • Assorted icecreams

Well, I was not actually fascinated by this, because my concentration was on the live kulfi counter right from the start 😉 The most beautiful thing that I had here is the “Pan(betle leaves) flavoured Kulfi” they make it right on the spot once you ask for it. This was the best part of my dinner. The Kulfi was so very awesome, The delicate flavorings of the pan, gulkand and the sweet supari was bliss, mildly sweet and beautiful assembled. I am so much in love with this dish and I personally recommend you all to go and try it there.

Overall, A great place, Make sure to be extremely hungry when you visit here, coz there’s so much to taste 😛 and be devoured. Also, enjoy the live dance by the staff, which is one of the main attractions 🙂
